This is footage taken behind the police and very tame compared to other videos which show the maiming of civilians via mysterious explosive devices. One lost his hand because he picked up a canister he believed to be tear gas. A young woman was killed by flying debris from an explosive. Atleast 2 men have had their legs severed from below the knee.

This is the first round of attacks on protesters, the second would occur after the Senators flee Parliament and a third attack on protesters will occur in the evening at the Police Headquarters.

People's Alliance for Democracy (PAD) has been maligned, misunderstood and ridiculed in the foreign press. It is impossible to even begin to explain and deal with the "spin".

PAD is protesting Somchai Wongsawat, the brother-in-law of Thaksin Shinawatra and the effort to change the constitution which would benefit the Shinawatra family. In the past, Somchai used his position in the legal system to protect the Shinawatra family.

Thaksin is pleading for asylum in Great Britain on behalf of himself and his wife, who was convicted of tax evasion.
